The occasion | The client was
planning an early spring afternoon
open house reception for her
mother’s 90th birthday celebration. 
The reception was between the
lunch and dinner hours, and
obviously many of the guests
would be elderly. So the client
requested finger foods that would
be easy to pick up and eat in a
bite or two, and also, that would
not be too spicy or too “ethnic”
— in essence, classic American food.
